As social media becomes more of a conduit for people to interact with people without being face to face the increase of rude and otherwise clueless people will only grow I am afraid. I think that the best reply is often no reply when you are considering a response to a stupid post or Q&A.

Remember that while many people (like us) may be on-line to grow and promote our businesses some people are on-line for other reasons. When anyone is rude or too expressive I immediately notice the problem and simply avoid the person. If I engage them then I am adding fuel to the fire so to speak.

Just a thought...

Sure, close the zoo.
Close the park.
Cut down the trees.
Put up condominiums - is that that city plan?

Cultural suicide, idiocy, short sightedness, what else; oh yeah, progress.
True the zoo/park costs money, what doesn't.

The overwhelming benefit of keeping this 106 year(?) icon intact is that is is heart and soul of Eureka; in my opinion.
Charging a fee is almost sacrilegious and the people thinking this would be a good idea must be geniuses.
However, I believe Eureka needs to do whatever possible, even if unpopular, to keep this facility because without it Eureka is just another dieing town - dieing to what it once was and becoming a less caring civilization - good luck!

A few recommendations:
Advertise more (gas stations, hotels, motels, restaurants (don't just have brochures in racks, pass them out personally - show some pride),
Low, extremely low entry fees for out of state visitors - show some pride,
Ask Eureka citizens to take pride in the zoo/park and brings their out-of-town visitors.
Ask (zoo/park) visitors to to fill out comment/question form for input for improvement,
Again - show some pride.

I knew they were not for me when i received the exact same resume critique as my husband! And we are in different fields! This leads me to believe the ladders is nothing but a scam!

I got a second opinion and ended up hiring debbie at fishbowlresume. She was very personable and her rates much more affordable. And most importantly, I LOVE my resume! My husband was so impressed he also ordered one from her.

Always remember to get a second opinion- more $ does not mean better quality. While I believe you do have to pay for a wonderful resume, I do not believe it has to cost the same as my monthly mortgage!

Sophie, I just found your blog via your Holga page. I was looking for contact information to thank you for that wonderful resource. I just bought my first Holga and am using your page as my "instruction manual" to get started. But, now that I've found your blog I will definitely be following it as I too am thinking long and hard about the work I do and how to move it in a new direction. I really love your insight. So, thanks for both! P.S. I am from Bellingham but now live in Vail, Colorado. I miss the Northwest and I ADORE Northern California. I really want to do a camping trip there with my boyfriend who has never experienced the giant redwoods.
